— The situation
Potters Bar Lofts & Extensions is a family building firm — loft conversions and dormers, ground floor and wrap-around extensions, refurbishments and hard landscaping — working across Potters Bar, St Albans and Harpenden.
Their reputation was never the problem. They hold a 4.5 out of 5 TrustScore on Trustpilot, and every single review is five stars. Customers say the same things over and over: they turn up, they finish on time, they stay on budget, and they take pride in the work.
The problem was that none of that reached anyone who had not already met them. A homeowner searching "loft conversion Potters Bar" found somebody else. And a builder is judged on proof of work long before they are judged on copy — which makes the gallery the most important page on the site, not an afterthought.
— what we did
Three moves, in order.
One page per thing people search for
Lofts & Dormers, Extensions, Refurbishments and Hard Landscaping each got their own page. A single page listing four services competes with nothing; four pages each compete for their own search.
Built the site around the work
The gallery is the argument. Real projects, photographed properly, with the detail a homeowner actually asks about before they enquire.
Made the quote route obvious
A request-a-quote form reachable from every service page, alongside phone and email. Someone ready to act should never have to hunt for how.
— Under the hood
Built on Wix Studio, handed over completely.
Wix Studio build — four dedicated service pages plus gallery, about and quote
Local SEO across three towns — structure, metadata and location targeting
Request-a-quote form — routing to a single inbox
Gallery — built to be added to without a developer
Ongoing care plan — updates, changes and support
Responsive — across four breakpoints
